Thank you, so much, for your interest in Pelorus Financial. The fact that you have landed on this page and are interested in learning about me is humbling. It is important for you to know that I am a:

God guy – I believe that the Creator of heaven and earth is alive and working in the world today. His greatest work, initiated in His son, Jesus, 2000 years ago, was and is necessary for us to have a relationship with Him. As part of His work in my life I am to be a good steward of all that God has provided – salvation, talents, relationships, and of course, money. My responsibility to manage my personal finances well, is mirrored in my work to maintain the trust of our financial planning clients and in conducting the business of Pelorus Financial.

Family guy – Once upon a time I planned to be a farmer, following the generations before me that had built a thriving, family operation in central-Michigan. I chose, instead, a vocation that would allow me to provide for my family, while affording me more time and flexibility of schedule to be with them. My wife, Meridith, and my children, Channing, Faith & Nicholas are the most important people in my life. If you find me away from the office, during business hours, it is because I am most likely with them – at the ball field, soccer field, school, or at home a bit early because I’m husband and Daddy above all else.

Numbers guy– After leaving the farm I studied to be an accountant. I earned my CPA license in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and then worked in the world of public accounting for two years and as an internal accountant/controller for two more years. In 2002, I shifted my financial focus to the area of investment advice and went to work for Edward Jones as a financial advisor. I served my clients there for 10+ years. I have leveraged those experiences, and the expertise gained from them, into the founding of Pelorus Financial. I currently serve Pelorus as a managing member and my clients as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ™ Certificant.

Details guy – Brian and I founded Pelorus Financial for the fundamental purpose of serving our clients well. Challenged in our ability to do this individually, we moved away from our prior firm so that we could utilize each other’s strengths in building a better model for serving our clients. I am a methodical, detail-oriented person that requires precision. Accordingly, here at Pelorus, I am primarily responsible for the calculations and documentation involved in our client’s financial plans, investment and portfolio analysis, and for the operational components of our practice. While Brian is responsible for other parts of the practice that build off his strengths, we share the responsibility of developing and fostering the meaningful relationships we have with our clients.

Thank you again for your interest in Pelorus Financial and for taking a few minutes on this page.
